Osofo Kwesi Atta

Osofo Kwesi Atta is currently Director of Clinical Pastoral Education for Advocate Health Care. In addition, he is a certified ACPE Supervisor. He is responsible for providing leadership to Advocate's systemwide Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program and is involved in developing and/or supporting continuing education programs for
staff chaplains, other healthcare providers and community pastors.

Prior to joining Advocate, Osofo Kwesi served as CPE Educator, Greenville Hospital System/University Medical System, Greenville, South Carolina. He also held positions as a Consultant/Contract Clinical Educator and served as Director of Pastoral Education, Egleston Children's Hospital, The Emory Clinic, and Director of Administration, Emory Center for Pastoral Services, Atlanta, Georgia.

Osofo earned his undergraduate degree from Winston-Salem State University, Winston-Salem, N.C, his Masters of Divinity, Duke University Divinity School, Durham, North Carolina and a certificate in Patient Counseling from Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia.

 
Rev. Rene C. Brandt

Supervisor, Clinical Pastoral and staff chaplain

Rev. Rene Brandt is an ACPE Supervisor in Clinical Pastoral Education. She came to Advocate in 2000 to begin her supervisory training. Rev. Brandt has supervised at multiple Advocate sites and currently works as supervisor and chaplain at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Before this, she was Minister for Youth and Visitation at Valley Community Presbyterian Church in MN.

Rev. Brandt received her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and her Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. Rev. Brandt is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church USA. She is currently a member of the ACPE Regional Accreditation Committee.


Rev. Delois Brown-Daniels

Vice President, Mission and Spiritual Care
Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center

Rev. Delois Brown-Daniels is currently Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care for Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and is a certified Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Illinois Masonic, Rev. Brown-Daniels served as Vice President, of Religion and Health at Advocate Trinity Hospital. Before that she held positions at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Yale-New Haven Hospital and Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Rev. Brown-Daniels earned her Masters of Divinity from Yale University, where she is the recipient of the Yale Divinity School 2002 Alumni/ae Board Award for Distinction in Service to the Community. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Converse College, Spartanburg, South Carolina and is a board certified chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains.

From 1991 to 1997, she served on the ACPE Accreditation Commission and the ACPE Board of Directors for the North Central Region. She has been involved in hospital chaplaincy since 1980 and has been on various civic and religious boards of directors. Rev. Brown-Daniels was ordained by the Connecticut Missionary Baptist Association and has dual standing in the United Church of Christ.

 

Rev. Rose Sharon Bryan

Rev. Rose Sharon Bryan is currently a certified ACPE Supervisor in the department of Mission and Spiritual Care, Advocate Condell Medical Center.  She is responsible for the development of Clinical Pastoral Education program at Condell.

Prior to joining the staff at Condell, Reverend Bryan comes to us from the Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, North Carolina where she was Assistant Director of Pastoral Care and Education primarily responsible for process improvement. In addition, she served on the hospital ethics committee as a consultant.  She received her Master of Divinity degree from Hood Theological Seminary, Salisbury, North Carolina, Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Clark-Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia, and Associate degree in Nursing from Beaufort Community College, Washington, North Carolina.

Reverend Bryan is an ordained Elder and endorsed by the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (AME Zion Church) for hospital chaplaincy and as an ACPE  Supervisor.
 

Rev. Danielle Buhuro

Rev. Danielle Buhuro is currently an Associate Supervisor and Staff Chaplain in the Mission and Spiritual Care Department at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Rev. Buhuro is also a Board Certified Chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). Previously, Rev. Buhuro was a staff chaplain at Mercy Hospital, Chicago.

Rev. Buhuro is an ordained Baptist with Privilege of Call standing in the United Church of Christ. Rev. Buhuro graduated from Chicago Theological Seminary in 2008 with a Doctor of Ministry in Religion and Health and Master of Divinity in 2005 and attended Chicago State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  Rev. Buhuro is committed to her faith, family and issues of fairness.

 
Rev. James Christian

Rev. Jim Christian is currently Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Rev. Christian has served as a staff chaplain in mental health and addictions, community chaplaincy, pastoral counselor, and thirteen years in congregational ministry. He was the clinical director of Parkside Lodge in Manteno, and Lutheran Social Services/Alcohol and Drug Program in Chicago.

Rev. Christian is a Board Certified Chaplain, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and a Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor. He received a Masters of Divinity from Christ Seminary, St. Louis and a B.A. from Concordia College Ft. Wayne. He is ordained and rostered in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

 
Rev. Joseph Tamborini Czolgosz

Rev. Joseph Czolgosz is currently a certified Supervisor with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), is Manager for the CPE program at Lutheran General and is board certified as an acute care hospital Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). He has served in the department of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, Illinois, since 1993, with a three year experience of ministry and clinical pastoral education supervision at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Lutheran General, Rev. Czolgosz was a congregational leader/planner, priest/pastor in urban, rural and inner city parishes, Roman Catholic Diocese of Saginaw, Michigan.

Rev. Czolgosz completed his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature/Philosophy/Theology at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. He completed a Master of Theology from Catholic University of America, Washington D.C. He was granted a Master of Divinity from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana. He completed the course work for a Doctor of Ministry from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.; he has completed the course work for a Doctor of Ministry from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois, and is completing his dissertation. He is Board Certified, Association of Professional Chaplains and is an ordained minister of the Episcopal Church, Diocese of Chicago, IL.

 
Rev. Cornelius "Corky" DeBoer

Rev. Corky DeBoer is currently a certified ACPE Supervisor in Clinical Pastoral Education and Manager, Spiritual Services in the department of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Rev. DeBoer was a supervisor in training at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital from 1999 to 2000. He was also Minister of Pastoral Care & Evangelism at Orland Park Christian Reformed Church.

Rev. DeBoer received his Master of Theology (pastoral care & counseling) and Master of Divinity from Calvin Theological Seminary. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Calvin College. He is an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church of North America.

  
Rev. Susan Johnson Gullickson

Rev. Susan Gullickson is currently a certified ACPE Supervisor and Staff Chaplain in the department of Mission and Spiritual Care, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Prior to that, Rev. Gullickson was a Pastoral Psychotherapist at The Counseling Center of First Presbyterian Church, Evanston, Illinois and Manager of Pastoral Care at Mather Lifeways.

Rev. Gullickson received her Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Psychotherapy from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Masters of Science in Educational Psychology and Counseling from University of Kentucky College of Education and Masters of Divinity from Yale Divinity School. She has been an ACPE member since 1976, AAPC member from 1989-2002 and was certified as Fellow in 1997. She also was a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, State of Illinois. Rev. Gullickson is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

 
Rev. Karen Hutt

Rev. Karen Hutt is currently a certified ACPE Associate Supervisor in Clinical Pastoral Education in the Mission and Spiritual Care Department at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, Hazel Crest, Illinois. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, Rev. Hutt served for four years as Senior Pediatric Chaplain at Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago.

Rev. Hutt earned her Masters of Divinity at Meavile/Lombard Theological School, Chicago, Illinois and is a Unitarian Universalist CPE Candidate Supervisor. She did her training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Stroger County Hospital and Rush University Medical Center.

Rev. Hutt brings to CPE over 25 years of experience in experiential education program design and training. Her interests include urban ministry, pediatric trauma and postmodern approaches to pastoral care for the growing numbers of Americans who are not affiliated with any religious community.

 
Rev. Larry L. Jackson

Reverend Larry Jackson is currently Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care for Advocate South Suburban and Advocate Trinity Hospital. Previously, Rev. Jackson was Director of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Bethany Hospital. He is responsible for all aspects of pastoral/spiritual care for patients, visitors and associates. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, Rev. Jackson was Director of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Bethany Hospital. He began his employment at Bethany in 1992.

Rev. Jackson received his Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary and his Bachelor of Arts from University of Illinois, Circle Campus. He is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

 
Chaplain Angie Keith

Chaplain Angie Keith is currently a certified ACPE Supervisory Candidate in Clinical Pastoral Education and staff chaplain in the Mission and Spiritual Care Department specializing in pediatrics at Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Children’s Hospital - Oak Lawn. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Chaplain Keith held a position at SBC Communications as a manager.

Chaplain Keith graduated from Chicago Theological Seminary in 2008 with a Master of Divinity degree. She completed her Bachelor and Masters degree at National Louis University in Managerial Leadership and is a Licensed Evangelist in the Church of God in Christ.


Barbara Lovett

System CPE Program Coordinator
Advocate Health Care

Barbara Lovett is the System CPE Program Coordinator, Clinical Pastoral Education in the department of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Health Care. She interacts with associates, CPE applicants, students and CPE Supervisors throughout Advocate's nine hospitals. She also coordinates retreats, educational programs and special events. She is currently serving as Chairperson of the Advocate Support Center Mission, Values and Philosophy Committe. Prior to joining the staff in Mission and Spiritual Care, Lovett was Administrative Assistant for the Recorder Compliance Administrator at the Cook County Building.

 
Rev. Janet E. MacLean

Supervisor, Clinical Pastoral Education & Staff Chaplain

Advocate Christ Medical Center

Rev. Janet E. MacLean is currently a certified ACPE Supervisor and Staff Chaplain in the Mission and Spiritual Care Department specializing in Pediatrics at Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Children's Hospital - Oak Lawn. She is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, with standing in the Chicago Metropolitan Association of the Illinois Conference.

Rev. MacLean graduated from Chicago Theological Seminary in 1998 with a Master's of Divinity Degree. She also holds a master's degree from American University/NTL Institute in human resources/organizational development, a master's from the University of Chicago Divinity School in religion and a bachelor's from Carleton College.

In 1998 Rev. MacLean came to Advocate Christ Medical Center for a CPE residency. She worked in Labor & Delivery, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Med/Surg. After completing her residency, she worked as the Perinatal Support Coordinator for Women's and Infants' Health. She completed the RTS Bereavement Coordinator and Counselor training certificates. After a brief time away, she returned to Advocate Health Care as Bereavement Coordinator for Advocate Hospice. In 2003, she joined the pastoral care team as Pediatric Chaplain, working primarily in the intensive care units at Hope. Rev. MacLean entered supervisory training in July 2006 and successfully met for Candidate in September 2007. In addition to her hospital ministry, Rev. MacLean has worked and volunteered for 20 years with Amnesty International, an international, grassroots human rights organization.

 
Rev. Wendell Oman

Vice President, Mission and Spiritual Care
Advocate Christ Medical Center

Rev. Wendell Oman is currently Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care for Advocate Christ Medical Center. Prior to joining the staff at Christ Medical Center, Rev. Oman was a chaplain with the Light Bearers Association, a ministry that has provided chaplain services to public institutions. From 1984 to 1986, he was a chaplain at University of Illinois Hospital and Cook County Hospital. In 1987 Rev. Oman was hired as a staff chaplain for the department of psychiatry at Christ Medical Center and became Manager of Spiritual Services in 2002.

Rev. Oman earned his Masters of Divinity from Trinity International University's Divinity School, Deerfield, Il. In 1989, he became the first certified chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains from the Evangelical Free Church of America, the denomination from which he has been licensed and ordained for the past 23 years. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

 
Rev. Karrie Oertli

The Rev. Dr. Karrie Oertli is currently the Vice President of Mission & Spiritual Care at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center/Advocate Eureka Hospital in Normal, IL. Prior to joining Advocate, she was a director of pastoral care at a large hospital system in Oklahoma. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the Texas A&M University. She earned the Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She earned a Doctor of Ministry with Distinction from Drew University. Dr. Oertli is an ACPE Supervisor with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc., a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains, and is certified in mind/body medicine with The Center for Mind Body Medicine. From 2002 to 2005, she served as a member of the ACPE Accreditation Commission and from 2006 to 2012, she was chair. She has been appointed to several taskforces within ACPE and has also served in various roles with the Association of Professional Chaplains. She serves as a member of several non-profit boards of directors. Dr. Oertli was ordained by Western Hills Baptist Church and is endorsed by the Alliance of Baptists.

 
Jeni S. Porche

Jeni S. Porché is currently a certified ACPE Supervisory Candidate in Clinical Pastoral Education and staff chaplain in the Mission and Spiritual Care Department at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois. Jeni is a Roman Catholic Lay Ecclesial Minister, endorsed by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Jeni taught and ministered in parish, academic, and correctional settings.

Jeni earned her Masters of Divinity at Loyola University, Chicago, and is a Doctor of Ministry Candidate at the University of St. Mary of the Lake Mundelein Seminary, Mundelein, Illinois. Her interests include visual arts, sacramental and narrative theology, hagiography, and the transformational power of storytelling.

 
Rev. Fred Rajan

Rev. Fred Rajan is currently Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. Rev. Rajan has over 20 years experience in the field of ministry. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Rev. Rajan served as Executive Director of the Commission for Multicultural Ministries, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Under his leadership he developed and implemented multicultural ministry strategies for the ELCA. He also worked in hospital ministry at St. Joseph Hospital and Hermann Hospital, both in Houston, Texas.

Rev. Rajan received his Master of Theology and Master of Divinity from Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in Tacoma, Washington. He also has a B.A. in Economics from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India and a M.A. in Economics from Madras University, Tamil Nadu, India.
 

Rev. Amy Snedeker

Rev. Amy Snedeker is currently a certified ACPE Supervisor in Clinical Pastoral Education and Staff Chaplain in the department of Mission and Spiritual care at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Good Samaritan, Rev. Snedeker was a CPE Supervisor in Training, and a staff chaplain in Cancer Care at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital from 1996 to 2002. Before that she was a part-time solo pastor at Brighton Park Presbyterian Church, Chicago and a full-time pastor to two yoked churches; Riverside Presbyterian Church, Clinton, IA and Garden Plain Presbyterian Church, Fulton, IL.

Rev. Snedeker received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Davis & Elkins College, Elkins, West Virginia and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey. She is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Rev. Moses Oladele Taiwo, PhD

Supervisor, Clinical Pastoral Education & Staff Chaplain

Rev. Moses Oladele Taiwo is a Certified ACPE Supervisor and Staff Chaplain in the department of Mission and Spiritual Care, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.  Rev. Taiwo is also a Board Certified Chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). 

Rev. Taiwo was ordained by the Michigan Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA), and endorsed by the Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) of the General Conference of the SDA Church, Hqtrs, Silver Springs, MD.  Rev. Taiwo was originally from Nigeria, and served as a seminary pastor and professor for ten years at Babcock University (defunct Adventist Seminary of West Africa) prior to his coming to the United States in 1997 to do a doctoral study in New Testament at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI.  He successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation entitled, "Paul's Apparent Reversal of Concern for the Weak Brother in I Corinthians 10:29b-30," in 2002.

Prior to joining Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital , Rev. Taiwo served as a Staff Chaplain Supervisor at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC, a Level 1 Trauma Center, since 2005.  In the process, he joined a CPE Supervisory training program in 2009 at the center and became certified as an Associate Supervisor in 2011.  His interests include visual imaging, African Spirituality, and the power of transformational learning.

 
Phyllis Brooks Toback

Supervisor, Clinical Pastoral Education and Staff Chaplain

Advocate Christ Medical Center

Phyllis Toback is a certified ACPE Supervisor and has endorsement as a Jewish Staff Chaplain in the department of Mission and Spiritual Care at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Phyllis was hired at Christ Medical Center as a supervisory educational student in 1986, and as a staff chaplain in 1987. Prior to joining the staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center, she was an English Professor for 7 years. Her clinical ministry is in neonatology.

Chaplain Toback received her Doctor of Ministry from Chicago Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts from New York University and a B.A. from Barnard College. She has certification from the Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains and Institute for Spiritual Leadership. Chaplain Toback is a member of the Jewish Conservative Movement.

 
Rev. Mollie Ward, M.Div.

ACPE Supervisor, Manager of Spiritual Care and CPE
Advocate BroMenn Medical Center

Mollie currently serves as Manager of Spiritual Care and CPE at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, where she completed her supervisory training. She also completed a residency at Advocate BroMenn and an internship at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. She is a member of the ACPE Regional Accreditation Committee for the North Central Region. Mollie’s supervisory theory papers were named Best Papers of 2009 by the ACPE.

Mollie received her Master of Divinity degree from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary and her Bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma. Mollie is a priest in the Episcopal Church USA and a board certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains. She served on staff at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Bloomington, Illinois from 2002-2007. Before entering seminary, Mollie worked as a newswire journalist in New York and Chicago and was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic.
