Adopt-A-School Program
Reaching out to care for kids
Help improve the health and lives of the 1,100 students attending Dawes Elementary School, a Chicago Public School, with a gift to this program. Services include parent, teacher and student health education, school physicals, immunizations and mentoring. These services are managed by the pediatric residency program.
Adult Cancer Care Services
Supporting the fight against cancer
Contributions to this fund support the work of a team of dedicated clinicians and caregivers who emphasize education, early detection, screening programs, wholistic treatment and ongoing research to fight one of the leading causes of death in America.
Cancer Survivorship Clinic
Caring for young cancer survivors
Hope Children's Hospital's follow-up clinic for survivors of childhood cancer is the most effective mechanism to provide comprehensive care, including medical services, education and psychosocial support to young cancer survivors and their families. While new treatments have increased survival rates, they also contribute to long-term physiologic and cognitive effects. Your gift can help pediatric cancer survivors and their families transition back to "normal" life.
Cardiac Services
Enabling clinical excellence in cardiology
Your gift helps Christ Medical Center, one of the top cardiovascular hospitals in the nation, listen and respond to cardiac patient needs by delivering comprehensive, compassionate care, from prevention to state-of-the-art diagnostics to intervention and rehabilitation.
Funds contributed to this priority allow Christ Medical Center to move forward as a premier center for cardiac services on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Future plans include the advancement of ongoing programs and expansion of new programs such as additional cardiac surgical suites, a heart disease diagnosis and management center, an arrhythmia center, a mechanical heart program, the congestive heart failure program, cardiac rehabilitation, community education and partnership, and clinical research.
Clinical Auditorium and Conference Center
Advancing medical education
The addition of this facility confirms Christ Medical Center's status as a major medical teaching institution. At the center of the project is a 275-seat auditorium with advanced video conferencing and technology capabilities. Surrounding the main auditorium are several conference facilities allowing flexible and comfortable amenities for a variety of needs.
Your gifts help support continuing clinical and community education.
CyberKnife Radiosurgery
Providing new, innovative treatment methods
Advocate Christ Medical Center will be one of 70 hospitals in the country to offer CyberKnife Radiosurgery. This painless, non-invasive radiation treatment can be an alternative to surgery. It allows us to treat tumors, many of which may have been considered inoperable or untreatable.
Electronic Intensive Care Unit at Christ
Creating an extra layer of monitoring for critical patients
The electronic intensive care unit (eICU) provides around the clock centralized video/audio monitoring by Advocate physicians and nurses for our most critical patients in our intensive care units. Your gift helps this technology supplement the already high level of care provided by our hospital and enhances the quality of care we provide to our patients. The eICU has the potential to save lives, significantly reduce complications, and reduce the length of a patient's stay in an ICU.
Hearts for Hope
Bringing comfort to the littlest patients
Hearts for Hope is a volunteer organization dedicated to raising awareness and support for the children and families cared for by Hope Children's Hospital. Funds donated to Hearts for Hope help purchase equipment, furnishings and provisions for the comfort of patients and families. The group has also created a Family Assistance Program to aid families of hospitalized children. Throughout the year, the organization hosts toy drives, patient parties, special events and educational seminars.
The Keyser Family Pediatric Cancer Center
Enhancing care for the youngest cancer patients
The Keyser Family Pediatric Cancer Center at Hope Children's Hospital provides a full range of diagnostic and treatment services for children, from infants through adolescents, in virtually all childhood cancers. Your gift supports a multidisciplinary approach, a focus on family that minimizes the impact on daily life, and advanced and comfortable environments for patient care.
Live from the Heart
Educating young people on the importance of heart health
Created in partnership with the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, the centerpiece of Live from the Heart is an interactive, facility broadcast featuring live open-heart surgery performed at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Middle and high school students view this broadcast as part of a six-lesson unit on heart health. Over 25,000 students have participated in the program, which illustrates the physiologic importance of the heart, explores behaviors that influence students' lifestyle choices affecting their cardiovascular health, and encourage interest in health science careers.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Expansion
Providing special care for high-risk newborns
When human life is at its most fragile stage, our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is at its best, calling upon the advanced skills of our doctors as well as our state-of-the-art technology. Your generous donation helps to fund early intervention, emergency care and life-saving medical specialties, so that newborns with special health needs may go on to lead healthy and happy lives.
Nursing Education and Excellence
Developing the skills and research potential of nurses
Your gifts support research and continuing education opportunities for Christ Medical Center nurses, helping them develop professionally and personally.
Operating Room/Intensive Care Unit Expansion
Enabling the highest standards of care for our most critically injured patients
Funds contributed to this priority allow Christ Medical Center to renovate and expand Chicagoland's busiest intensive care unit. Plans include adding two surgical suites.
Pediatric Cardiology Programs
Innovative treatments for tiny hearts
Hope Children's Hospital is well known for its excellence and experience in caring for children with congenital and acquired heart disease. Your gift helps the hospital keep its cardiology care up-to-date with new treatments and technology.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Heart Unit Expansion
Providing urgent care for even more seriously ill children in an entire region
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hope Children's Hospital -- made up of 12 traditional pediatric intensive care beds plus seven beds for the pediatric surgical heart unit -- serves over 1600 patients per year who are referred from 55 hospitals. The transport team, which is part of the critical care team, treats seriously ill children in transit who come to the facility by ground and air transport. Unfortunately, the critical care unit must turn away an additional 500 patients every year due to space constraints. To alleviate some of the overcrowding, the hospital has begun fundraising for an expansion project. Your gift will help the hospital add an additional five state-of-the-art pediatric intensive care beds and allow it to enhance neurosurgical critical care services.
Women's and Infants' Health Services
Lending a helping hand to moms and babies
Contributions to this fund help women and babies live happier, healthier lives. Services include comprehensive primary and preventive care; educational classes and health screenings; a complete spectrum of specialty services to address women's health care needs across the lifespan; and specialized infant services such as pediatric care, a neonatal intensive care unit, prenatal testing and high-risk and genetic counseling.
Funds contributed to this priority enable Advocate Christ Medical Center/Advocate Hope Children's Hospital to upgrade, expand and renovate the areas of the hospital which serve the needs of women at all stages of pregnancy and their children. Focus will be on the birthing areas, neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit.
