Cancer Services

More than 61,000 cases of invasive cancer are projected to be diagnosed in Illinois this year. Nearly 3,000 of those cases will be in Lake County. Fortunately, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital provides our community with an array of resources to promote early detection and excellent care. The quality of cancer care services at Good Shepherd Hospital was validated in 2004 when the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer presented the Outstanding Achievement Award to Good Shepherd - one of only two hospitals in Illinois to receive the designation.

The Center for Cancer Care at Good Shepherd offers a myriad of high-tech treatment options, diagnostic tools, clinical trials, education and classes. Our Cancer Care Team brings together experts from many disciplines, including some of the Midwest's finest medical professionals. Care is further rounded out by the services of a comprehensive Breast Care Center and breast health specialist who help patients and their families understand all phases of breast care.
