Advocate South Suburban Hospital recently developed a new Ambulatory Surgery Center located in the space formerly occupied by the Intensive Care Unit. The dedicated outpatient center is separate from the inpatient services, enabling increased efficiency and a focus on the patient and physician.

Creating the new Ambulatory Surgery Center was a key priority of the five-year comprehensive vision for South Suburban Hospital. The center, with its dedicated staff, is able to handle the greater volume of cases needed to meet the growing needs of our expanding community.

The center brings many benefits to our patients: easily accessible drive-up entrance; enhanced comfort and privacy; streamlined registration; and space for families to be with the patient in the recovery phase.

With the help of philanthropy, the new space includes surgical suites, procedure rooms, dedicated parking immediately adjacent to the center's entrance, separate waiting area and family-friendly spaces.
