Advancing services and care
South Suburban Hospital has already begun to advance its cardiovascular program with new services such as elective coronary angioplasty and carotid stenting to improve blood flow in the body's arteries. The hospital recently added a 64-slice CT (computed tomography) scanner—the newest noninvasive diagnostic technology for coronary disease.

To continue providing exceptional care and services to our patients the hospital is upgrading its capabilities to provide the full spectrum of high-quality heart and vascular care. The next steps for the advancement of cardiovascular services at South Suburban Hospital include the development of a state-of-the-art interventional radiology suite and a new Heart and Vascular Center. This new outpatient facility will consolidate all cardiovascular programs into one space to make treatment convenient and efficient. Outreach programs will provide extensive screening and educational services to enhance awareness of heart and vascular diseases.
