Forum and Background
The Department of Research is proud to host the Advocate Research Innovation Forum. In 2012, the forum was named “2012 Advocate Research and Innovation Forum: Advancing Patient Care and Safety Through Research and Quality.”
Along with the new name comes a new experience, in addition to the poster symposium. The forum now provides a full day of events including educational and translational oral presentations to increase our understanding of scholarly activity while showcasing our finest projects promoting translation and collaboration to advance patient care.
The forum continues at three sites (Christ Medical Center, Lutheran General Hospital, Illinois Masonic Medical Center) as an opportunity for system-wide Advocate participation, including but not limited to administration, allied health professionals, nurses, students, fellows, residents, and attending physicians. It creates an event to present the scholarly work conducted over the year, as well as share ideas for future projects. Submissions include case reports, case series, performance and quality improvement, basic science, clinical trials, quality of care, clinical & educational program evaluations, and population health studies. This diversity in the continuum of projects demonstrates, at Advocate Health Care, we not only practice evidence-based medicine, we create it!
Participation
We strongly encourage the participation of all Advocate Health Care associates including but not limited to administration, allied health professionals, nurses, students, fellows, residents, and attending physicians.
Abstracts that were recently presented or accepted at national and international meetings, as well as more recent findings, are welcome at this internal celebration of advancing patient care. As an internal conference, presentations at the Forum 2012 will not preclude you from participating in other research conferences or peer reviewed publications. Also, unfinished research at the time of abstract submission can be submitted.
