There are many things a woman can do to increase her chances of enjoying a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy. But sometimes, despite her best efforts and intentions, complications can arise. Our expert perinatal team provides obstetrical care and consultations for pregnant women who have special needs such as diabetes or hypertension, who have had a reproductive complication in a previous pregnancy or who become pregnant later in life.

As one of the largest and most respected medical groups in Chicago's north and northwest suburbs, Advocate Medical Group offers comprehensive, high quality obstetrical and gynecological services. Services span the needs of women from their teen years, through pregnancy to menopause and beyond. Routine screenings, checkups and diagnostic workups for specialized health conditions are provided. Obstetrical services include:
- general and high-risk obstetrics
- pre-conception counseling and screening
- contraceptive management (birth control)
- obstetrical consultation
Specialty gynecological care is also available, including pap smears, medical and surgical treatment for cancer or precancerous conditions of the reproductive tract, management of bladder and bowel dysfunctions and complex problems with the pelvis. Evaluation and treatment of gynecological conditions for all women occurs on both an inpatient and outpatient basis, and includes:
- perimenopause and menopause
- stress and urinary incontinence
- endometriosis
- tubal ligation
- urogynecology
- dysplasia
- fibroid tumors
- sexual disease and dysfunction
Our physicians, nurses and staff work together with each woman to identify her specific health care needs, and develop care and treatment plans that are best for her.
