Oncology Scope of Services

The major function of the outpatient Oncology clinic is meeting the Hematology/Oncology needs of the community. The processes include labs; intravenous access; in-depth education regarding side effects of Chemotherapy and blood abnormalities; blood transfusions evaluation; accessibility to the community; one on one relationship with the Medical staff and nursing personnel. Department leaders, nurses and medical staff through a referral team effort ensure daily key functions of care are on going in the Outpatient Oncology setting.

The degree of risk or complexity, volume, emotional impact and family influence impact the wellness outcome.

Education and reassurance about life affirming situations that come with taking Chemotherapy are always on the fore front of unit discussions. For more information, or to make a referral, please call Jennifer Mitchell, at 773.265.3600.
