
Advisory Council
Purpose
The Advisory Council is an Ad hoc committee that assembles to assist and strengthen Advocate Bethany Hospital's image in the community. The group also serves as a voice on issues that arise in Congress, the State, or community. In addition, the council will provide support in coordinating and implementing grass root publicity or lobbying efforts as they arise. The Advisory Council members act on their own behalf, do not set policy and do not speak for Advocate Healthcare, its board or administration.
Partners
Members are appointed by the hospital president with recommendations from community stakeholders and may include representatives from partners listed below.

Meetings
The Advisory Council partnership will meet quarterly for updates and discussion on issues that affect Bethany's community. Communication between those times will be facilitated through the Public Relations Department.
Duties
- Remain informed about the mission, programs and activities of the hospital
- Advise the president on how Bethany and Advocate is perceived in the community and help organize community forums of mutual interest to the community and the site
- Give hospital counsel and advice on how to strengthen and maintain good community relations
- Organize community forums of mutual interest to the community
- Be a resource for community safety and neighborhood improvement
