Why is Bethany changing to a Long Term Acute Care Hospital?
This new phase in Advocate Bethany Hospital’s health ministry reaffirms a commitment to Chicago’s West Side and allows the hospital to fill a critical, unmet need within our community - long term acute care.
We believe these changes will allow Bethany Hospital to better meet the needs of the community we have served for over 85 years. Patients with serious illness or injuries requiring extensive, individualized care will now have a hospital in their neighborhood that is dedicated and well equipped to best serve their needs.
Can I keep my doctor?
You may continue to see your same doctor, including those doctors who have offices at Bethany Hospital. However, we encourage you to talk to your physician about Bethany Hospital’s change to a specialty hospital. While you may continue to see your same doctor, he or she may only admit patients to Bethany Hospital whose serious illness or injury requires a hospital stay of at least 25 days. For all other hospital needs, your doctor will work with you and your family to go to another hospital best suited for your needs.
