Funding opportunities Below is a list of programs at Christ Medical Center and Hope Children's Hospital that currently need your support.
Cancer Institute Gifts to the Cancer Institute will support plans to expand our research capabilities and to develop a genetics high-risk clinic, oncology fellowship programs and a patient and family support center.
Heart and Vascular Institute This fund will support facility expansion for key services within the Heart and Vascular Institute. Funds will also be used for cutting-edge technology and equipment as well as for preventative services, community education and outreach.
Neurosciences Institute With your support, the Neurosciences Institute will continue to harness the collective power of technology and medical expertise to deliver the state-of-the-art neurological care that our patients have come to expect.
CeaseFire Support Program CeaseFire at Advocate Christ Medical Center is a hospital-based violence prevention program created to reduce violent injury, particularly re-injury, in high-risk youth admitted for gunshot wounds, stabbing or battery. More than 600 patients were assessed in the emergency department in 2008, and more than 1,500 have been assessed since the program began in 2005. Additional funding for this program will enable staff to follow up with more at-risk youths after hospitalization and offer them encouragement to continue or return to school, mentoring in developing coping skills and other alternatives in the face of violence, and other means of assistance providing ongoing help and support.
Nursing Education and Research This fund supports research grants and funding for nurses to attend and/or present their work at international, national, regional and local professional conferences. The ability to attend these conferences increases the body of medical knowledge nurses can draw upon to improve patient care, ease families' stress and ensure better outcomes for people in the hospital.
President's Fund for Special Needs The Presidents Fund for Special Needs at Christ Medical Center provide resources and flexibility to respond quickly to new ideas and programs that support the medical center's strategic directions.
