Four Advocate Health Care hospitals ranked in 100 Top by Truven Health Analytics
Oak Brook, III —When you are on the front lines in health care, you’re focused on one thing—getting people well. It’s that type of focus and commitment that led four Advocate hospitals to be recognized among the nation’s best.
Today, Truven Health Analytics released its prestigious list of the 100 Top Hospitals, which includes Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center on Chicago’s North Side and Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. This is the fourth time Advocate Good Samaritan and Advocate Illinois Masonic have made the list. Advocate accounted for four of the seven Illinois hospitals ranked this year.
Advocate Lutheran General, Advocate Illinois Masonic, and Advocate Good Samaritan also received the Everest Award that recognizes hospitals that have achieved both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years.
“This honor is a reflection of the hard work and expertise from our physicians and associates who commit to providing the best possible care to the patients we serve, said Jim Skogsbergh, president and CEO, Advocate Health Care. “We’re honored to be included among this prestigious group of healthcare providers.”
To make Truven’s elite group, hospitals must not only provide the best possible care for patients, they must also demonstrate excellence as an efficiently run business. Truven considers the Top 100 as shining examples for others to follow.
The Advocate sites were chosen from 3,000 U.S. hospitals surveyed. Researchers at Truven say that if all Medicare inpatients received the same level of care as those treated in the award-winning facilities more than 164,000 additional lives could be saved along with more than $6 billion in savings from operational efficiency.
