Advocate leaders honored by March of Dimes

Downers Grove, Ill – Two Advocate Health Care leaders have been recognized for their exemplary work in maternal and infant health in the areas of health care management and nursing by the Illinois Chapter of the March of Dimes. The awards were presented Tuesday.

Jim Skogsbergh, Advocate Health Care president and CEO, and Debbie Schy, RNC, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, each received a Jonas Salk Health Leadership award

The award is named after Dr. Jonas Salk, a pioneer in medicine and a March of Dimes funded researcher who discovered a safe and effective vaccine for polio. It is given to health care professionals who have made significant contributions and who have demonstrated excellent leadership in this field. Honorees were selected by a March of Dimes Advisory Council.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
