Question: What is Advocate Family Care Network Therapy & Counseling services?

Answer: We are an outpatient division of Advocate Health Care. We are a group practice that offers counseling, psychotherapy, and some psychological testing services. We do not have psychiatrists and so we do not offer psychiatric medication services.

We are located in Oak Lawn, Illinois (across the street from Advocate Christ Medical Center) and in Bolingbrook, IL (near the I-55 - Stevenson Expressway, exit 267 and Route 53 and Lily Cache Road).

Question: What types of mental health counselors and psychotherapists do you have? Do you have male and female providers?

Answer: We have male and female counselors and psychotherapists. We have licensed clinical psychologists (who have doctorate degrees), licensed clinical professional counselors (who have LCPC licenses and have master's degrees), and pre-doctoral clinical psychology interns (who are in the final year of their doctoral training programs and have master's degrees). If you have a specific preference regarding working with a male or female counselor or therapist, please specify this to our Intake department staff.

Question: What are your hours and days available for appointments?

Answer: Our counselors and therapists are available mornings, afternoons, evenings (with last appointments beginning at 8pm) from Monday to Friday. We also have morning and early afternoon hours on Saturday in Oak Lawn.

Our Intake department staff is available from 8:30am to 5pm from Monday to Friday at the phone number 1.800.216.1110.

Question: How do I obtain a first session with one of your counselors or therapists?

Answer: Please call our Intake department staff at 1.800.216.1110. After we receive your information and check your health insurance benefits, one of our therapists will call you to schedule an initial appointment.

Question: What are the cost or fees for the counseling or therapy sessions? What insurance plans do you accept?

Answer: Your individual health insurance plan will determine how much you will pay per session. We accept most major HMO and PPO health insurance plans. Depending on your plan you may be required to pay from 0 to $30 or more per session as a co-pay. Additionally, some plans also require people pay a deductible as well. Different plans require that clients pay varying amounts. Please call our Intake department at 1.800.216.1110 to see if we accept your health insurance plan (we probably do), and how much your fees could be.

Question: Are your services private and confidential? If I am an Advocate employee associate, could my work boss or co-workers find out about what is discussed in my sessions?

Answer: These services are absolutely confidential. There are strict laws and professional expectations about the confidentiality that exists between therapists/counselors and clients. Your information can not and will not be shared with anyone unless you give explicit written permission to do so. If you work for Advocate, this still applies.

To schedule an appointment or more information, call 1.800.216.1110.
