Advocate BroMenn Medical Center's Neurology Residency program is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association and affiliated with Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine through Still OPTI. Sunil Chauhan, MD, MPH serves as program director.
Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL, a primary stroke center since 2007, is the home training site. Advocate Health Care is one of the largest health care systems in the United States. There are weekly didactics including guest neuroradiologists and neurointerventionalists with the Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation, in collaboration with the Neurosurgery Department.
Other training sites include OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL (10 minute drive). Sub-specialty training is at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL (40 minute drive), affiliated with the University of Illinois. The program also has a strong connection with the rest of the Advocate Health Care system, which has numerous sites of care in the Chicago area.
Opportunities for research Ph.D. or M.S. exist at Illinois State University in Normal.
The pioneering class of 2013 includes residents Eric Jenkie, DO, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - Virginia Campus; and Ryan Pappas, DO, A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
