This three-bed recovery care center offers a warm, hotel-like atmosphere for low-risk patients to recover for up to two nights after surgery at TCOM. Each spacious patient room is tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings, concealing medical equipment behind rich wood cabinets. Patients are pre-screened and must be generally healthy, while still having a need for pain control and observation post-surgery. The Community Health Care Clinic (902 Franklin Avenue, Normal), is a free clinic for medically underserved McLean County residents. Funded by both BroMenn and OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, services are provided by volunteer doctors and nurses, by appointment only. To be eligible, an individual must not be eligible for any entitlement programs; must not have health insurance; must have been a resident of McLean County for the previous two months; and must have an income level at or less than 185% of the current federal poverty guidelines.
