Free health screenings, entertainment, giveaways and prizes donated by local merchants will be among the programs and activities on tap during the Saturday, Nov. 7, community open house at the Advocate Christ Outpatient Center in Lockport.
Located in a new medical office building at 1206 East 9th Street just a few blocks west of I-355, the Advocate Christ Outpatient Center has planned an afternoon of family fun, with a major focus on encouraging healthy habits and preventing disease.
While children are enjoying clown acts and face painting, navigating an obstacle course, learning about backpack ergonomics and thrilling to the fire trucks and police cars that will be demonstrated on site, adults will be able to take advantage of a variety of screenings being offered during the open house by each of the services in this new outpatient center.
Both children and adults will appreciate the scheduled appearance of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which is operated by Advocate Hope Children's Hospital in cooperation with the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. The van brings free health care services to children in underserved neighborhoods of Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
To be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the open house event also will give participants an opportunity to win valuable gift certificates and prizes - all provided by area merchants. One lucky family will walk away with a 42-inch LCD television.
The Advocate Christ Outpatient Center, which opened at the end of August, offers area residents an extensive menu of health services for adults and children. Center services include:
