Providing Advanced Care for Women Facing Cancer
Advocate Christ Medical Center offers gynecologic oncology services to diagnose and treat all malignant and pre-malignant conditions of the female genital tract. Our staff helps women make informed, intelligent decisions about their medical care in an environment of care and support that is backed by state-of-the-art treatment.
Our services focus on the diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the female genital tract. This includes lesions of the cervix, uterus, ovaries, vagina and vulva. Treatment includes the most effective and up-to-date options in surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. We coordinate care with radiation and medical oncologists, screening and detection of breast diseases, and analysis of the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy for cancer survivors or women with a family history of cancer.
The gynecologic oncology staff includes a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist with special training in gynecologic oncology. The division at Christ Medical Center maintains an affiliation with the University of Illinois at Chicago, an active member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group (a national collaborative research organization).
We are committed to educating women one-on-one with information on the evolving philosophies of care, the current research and the ideal course of treatment designed expecially for her.
