The team at Advocate Christ's Heart and Vascular Institute is nationally recognized. Physicians at Christ Medical Center include the first team in the United States to implant a HeartMate II® ventricular assist device (VAD) for destination therapy and the first team in Illinois to perform robotically assisted mitral-valve repair surgery. Our physicians routinely publish in prestigious medical journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, and help to write national guidelines for heart care.
