Advocate Children's Hospital Names VP for Quality, Safety
Oak Lawn, Ill. – Larry Roy MD, who has been on the medical staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center since 1989, has been appointed vice president, quality and patient safety, for Advocate Children’s Hospital.
In this new role, he will be responsible for collaborating with clinical teams on clinical excellence, performance improvement and execution of quality and safety initiatives across the pediatric enterprise. He will maintain and develop quality metrics to ensure that Advocate Children’s Hospital delivers the safest and best care for the pediatric population.

He will help move us to becoming a national pediatric top-decile-performing organization,” said Mike Farrell, president, Advocate Children’s Hospital.
Board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Roy has held a number of pediatric physician leadership roles, including chief of pediatric academics and medical management at the Advocate Children’s Hospital--Oak Lawn campus. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Physician Executives and the Academic Pediatric Association.
He is well published and has led several national and regional pediatric initiatives on patient care quality and safety. He also serves on pediatric educational committees and is involved in clinical research programs. Most notably, Dr. Roy is recipient of many awards and honors, among them Faculty Teacher of the Year in the department of pediatrics at the Advocate Children’s Hospital--Oak Lawn campus.
Dr. Roy earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Wayne State University in Detroit.
