A full complement of sophisticated testing services, including genetic screening, highly accurate mammography, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and advanced nuclear medicine, allows physicians to diagnose even the most complex cancers at the earliest stages.

Our cancer program offers well-established treatment protocols, developed by a team of leading cancer care specialists, as well as on-site access to the most sophisticated cancer fighting technology available. Treatment plans are unique to each patient and can include surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. In addition, patients at Christ Medical Center can participate in national clinical trials offering breakthrough treatments not yet available as standard care.

A team of pathologists conducts detailed analyses of every biopsy sample to reveal important characteristics about the cancer, its growth behavior and any hereditary factors. Looking at molecular, cytogenetic, chromosomal, cell growth and other critical features helps the oncology team understand how an individual's cancer may progress and then target which specific chemotherapy drugs, method of radiation therapy or other treatment modalities are most appropriate for the narrowly defined disease.

We are one of only a handful of medical centers in Illinois to offer endoscopic ultrasound for the diagnosis and staging of esophageal, pancreatic, stomach and hepatobiliary cancers. And, we offer some of the newest, most advanced technologies used to treat all forms of cancer.
