For patients who are transitioning from aggressive medical treatment to managing pain and symptoms, hospice services at Advocate Christ Medical Center provide an opportunity to live the time they have left with dignity and in comfort. Services are provided in the home, in a long-term care facility, and in the hospital. Our goal is always to make patients as comfortable and symptom free as possible.
Our dedicated hospice teams features a specially trained staff of physicians, nurses, home health aides, social workers, grief counselors, clergy and volunteers. We deliver comfort and care to each patient based on his or her unique beliefs and values. In addition to minimizing anxiety, pain and stress, our hospice services are intended to decrease the chaos that often surrounds patients and their families during this difficult time.
The hospice program at Christ Medical Center is licensed by the state of Illinois and is Medicare-certified and JCAHO accredited. It is a member of the National Hospice Organization, the Illinois Hospice Association, and the Illinois Home Care Council.
