Richard Belch, MD, PhD
Medical Director, Gynecologic Oncology

Dr. Belch received his doctor of philosophy and medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical Center.  He then completed his residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center followed by his fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Belch is the Medical Director of Gynecologic Oncology.


Yvonne Collins, MD
Director, Gynecology Oncology Research

Nationally recognized gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Yvonne Collins, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and gynecologic oncology as is the Director of Gynecologic Oncology research at Advocate Christ Medical Center.  She graduated from the University of Florida and completed her residency at Cook County Hospital.  Dr. Collins then completed her fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  She is an active participant in clinical trials through the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GoG) and has co-authored numerous publications on the prevention, detection and treatment of various forms of gynecologic cancer.


Paul Gordon, MD
Medical Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program

Medical Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program, Dr. Gordon graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  He went on to complete a residency in General Surgery at Southern Illinois University as well as a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at State University of New Y9rk at Buffalo.  Dr. Gordon has presented nation-wide to fellow clinicians and is trained on state-of-the-art technology such as CyberKnife Radiosurgery as well as the daVinci Robotic surgical system.


Amar Hamad, MD
Section Chief, Oncology

Section Chief of Oncology at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Dr. Hamad graduated from Damascus University School of Medicine followed by an internship at Cook County Hospital.  He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  In addition to Section Chief of Oncology, Dr. Hamad serves as Chairman on the Pain & Palliative Care Committee and a member of the Medical Educational Committee Residency Program for Internal Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center.


Thomas Hoeltgen, MD
Cancer Committee Co-Chair

With over 35 years experience at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Dr. Hoeltgen serves as co-chairman of the cancer committee.  He graduated from Northwestern University followed by an internship, residency and fellowship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s.  During his career, Dr. Hoeltgen participated in several cooperative group activities including the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group and has been a principal investigator for CALBG at Advocate Christ Medical Center for over 10 years.


Elizabeth Holland, MD
Medical Director of the Breast Center

Dr. Holland is the Medical Director of the Advocate Christ Center for Breast Care.  She graduated from Northwestern University and completed her residency at Northwestern University.  Following her residency, she completed her fellowship at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.


Renee Jacobs, MD
Medical Director of Cancer Research

Dr. Jacobs graduated from the University of Chicago where she also completed her internship, residency and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.  Dr. Jacobs has been practicing at Advocate Christ Medical Center for over 10 years and currently hold several positions such as a member of the Advisory Committee for the Cancer Institute and the Cancer Institute Foundation Board as well s serving as the Clinical Research Director for Hematology/Oncology.


H. Jason Kang, MD
Chair of Radiology Oncology
Medical Director of CyberKnife

Dr. Kang serves as Chairman of Radiation Oncology and Medical Director of CyberKnife Radiosurgery.  He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago followed by an internship and residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center.  Dr. Kang has served on several committees throughout his career and has co-authored numerous publications on radiation treatment of various areas of the body.


Barbara Krueger, MD
Medical Director of the Breast Cancer Program

Dr. Krueger is a well known breast surgeon with over 18 years experience.  She graduated from Emory University School of Medicine, followed by an internship and residency at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center.  Dr. Krueger has been recognized by Cianna Medical for her work in treating breast cancer patients using SAVI™ technology.


M. Patrick Lowe, MD
Director, Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery for Gynecologic Oncology Co-Director, Gynecologic Oncology

Dr. Lowe is a nationally renowned surgeon specializing in robotic surgery.  He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Following his residency, Dr. Lowe completed two fellowships in Pathology and Biochemistry and Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.  Dr. Lowe is the Director of Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery for Gynecologic Oncology.


Adam Riker, MD, FACS
Director of Melanoma/Sarcoma Program

Dr. Riker graduated from the University of South Florida followed by his residency at Loyola University Medical Center.    He went on to complete a fellowship in surgerical Oncology at the National Insitutes of Health. Dr. Riker is widely published and has been involved in numerous clinical research projects.  He is the Medical Director of the Melanoma/Sarcoma Program and is a breast surgeon.


Robert Stein, MD
Medical Director for Inpatient Medical Oncology

With over 30 years of experience in caring for hematology and oncology patients, Dr. Stein graduated from Chicago Medical School and completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin and VA Affiliated Hospital of the University of Wisconsin.  Following his residency, he completed a Hematology fellowship at Mayo Clinic.  Dr. Stein is the Vice President of Medical Management at Advocate Christ Medical Center.


Patrice Stephens, APN
Breast

Patrice is the APN/Breast Health Specialist within the Cancer Institute.  Her role is to provide information and support to those diagnosed with breast cancer.  Patrice graduated from St. Xavier College with her MSN and has been a Breast Health Specialist for over 10 years.


Patty Mullenhoff, APN
Lung

Patty is the lung nurse navigator.  She graduated from Rush University College of Nursing and has over over 30 years experience at Advocate Christ Medical Center.


Deborah Stlaske, APN
GI

Deborah is the gastrointestinal nurse navigator.  She graduated from Saint Xavier University and is a National Advanced Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist as well as an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society


Kimberly Valachovic, APN
Inpatient

Kimberly is an APN that oversees cancer patients on our inpatient unit.  Kimberly graduated from Loyola University Chicago with her MSN and is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.
