Powerful treatment options, compassionate care, and a child-friendly environment come together at Advocate Christ Medical Center, where children and families challenged by pediatric cancers find approaches that address the physical, emotional, social and developmental effects of this disease.

The pediatric cancer program at Christ Medical Center is the largest pediatric oncology program in the Chicago's south and southwest suburbs. Our pediatric hematology-oncology team provides diagnosis and treatment for the full range of pediatric malignancies, including different types of leukemia, brain and spinal tumors, kidney cancer, osteosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma and other bone cancers, as well as hematological disorders such as hemophilia and anemia.

Children of all ages-from infants through teenagers-receive pediatric-tailored care at Christ Medical Center's Keyser Family Pediatric Cancer Center. The Keyser Family Pediatric Cancer Center is a designed exclusively for pediatric oncology patients, and provides a bright and uplifting atmosphere focused on healing, recovery and quality of life.

Through our membership in the Children's Oncology Group (the world's leading cooperative organization for pediatric cancer research), patients at Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Children's Hospital - Oak Lawn have access to the most promising new drug protocols. We have the capabilities, experience and resources to offer children the full scope of diagnostic and treatment options tailored to each child's specific diagnosis, age and family preferences.

Our Pediatric Oncology Survivorship Transition (POST) program follows patients as they move from childhood through adulthood, to watch for side effects of cancer care that can arise even decades after treatment.

Led by two of "Chicago's Top Doctors", Sharad Salvi, M.D., and Ammar Hayani, M.D., the Pediatric Cancer Institute at Advocate Christ Medical Center offers comprehensive services, proven experience, and supportive care that strives to minimize the impact of disease on daily life. "Chicago's Top Doctor" is a distinction awarded by Chicago Magazine in cooperation with Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd., a leading healthcare research and information company.
