Every day, patients across the Chicagoland come to Christ Medical Center for elective cosmetic or reconstructive surgeries.
Breast Reconstruction
For breast cancer patients who undergo mastectomies, our board certified reconstructive surgeons help patients determine the most appropriate type of breast reconstruction, if any.
Depending upon the patient’s treatment protocol, surgeons will determine if primary or delayed reconstruction is best. Patients who do not require chemotherapy or radiation may opt to undergo secondary operations to reconstruct the nipple, areola and remodel the opposite breast to match immediately following primary reconstructive surgeries.
Cosmetic Surgery
The medical center offers the full scope of cosmetic surgery options, from liposuction to laser treatments. Our board certified cosmetic surgeons use laser surgical techniques for the correction of wrinkles, pigmentation, spider veins and broken capillaries. We also offer Vaser® ultrasonic liposuction, which breaks down fat cells, making it easier to remove them and resulting in faster recovery and improved skin retraction after surgery.
Patients also have access to minimally invasive procedures for face lifts, breast augmentations and abdonimoplasties. For patients who are apprehensive about cosmetic surgery, our surgeons have extensive experience administiering Botox, Restilin and Juviderm injections, as well as intense pulse light (IPL) treatments which are used to improve skin quality and pigmentation.
Hand Reconstruction
Patients with congenital deformities and traumatic hand injuries benefit from the expertise of our hand reconstructive surgeons. From fingertip injuries to amputations to congenital defects, our physicians bring their years of experience to each patient’s situation.
For patients with congenital defects, our reconstructive surgeons evaluate each patient to determine the most appropriate procedure and timeframe. After surgery, physical therapy may be required to help patients regain function of their arms, hands and fingers. Our surgeons consult with referring physicians and physical therapists to coordinate therapy and ensure continuity of care.
