|
Full body application - CyberKnife® can be used to treat tumors throughout the body. CyberKnife® is the first dedicated full-body radiosurgery system. With its combination of imaging and robotic delivery of radiation, CyberKnife® brings the benefits of stereotactic radiosurgery to many more patients. Accuracy of treatment - The CyberKnife® technology constantly monitors the tumor's location in real time, and adjusts the delivery of the radiation dosage accordingly. The flexibility of the technology means that radiation can be targeted with greater precision - enhancing the effectiveness of treatment, while minimizing damage to surrounding tissue. Non-invasive therapy - With CyberKnife® radiosurgery, there is no cutting, no blood loss and no pain. In addition, there is no need for an invasive frame to ensure accuracy. CyberKnife® treatment is administered on an outpatient basis, so no hospitalization is required. Patients typically experience minimal, if any, side effects from the radiation, and they can return to their normal activities right away. Enhanced comfort - With the XsightTM and SynchronyTM systems, CyberKnife® has created a system where technology does more of the work, so patients' experiences are more comfortable. Enhanced imaging tracks the tumors, so the insertion of fiducials isn't always necessary, and patients don't have to wear the rigid metal head frame required in other stereotactic procedures. And patients no longer have to hold their breath during treatment, so the process is faster and easier. |
