The CyberKnife® system at Advocate Christ Medical Center includes two additional features to enhance efficacy and patient comfort:

Xsight^TM Spine Tracking System - This imaging technology makes it possible to monitor tumors in the spinal area without the insertion of markers or fiducials. Xsight uses the unique structure of the spine as a reference point to track the tumor and make automatic adjustments throughout treatment.

Synchrony^TM Respiratory Tracking System - This system allows patients to breathe normally throughout the treatment process without interrupting the accuracy of the therapy. Typically, treating tumors in the lungs or anywhere in the chest required patients to hold their breath, so their movement didn't compromise the treatment. With Synchrony technology, the system monitors patients' breathing and movement and automatically adjusts the radiation beam to maintain correct targeting. This way, Synchrony provides a more comfortable, and generally faster, treatment for patients.
