Designated a Level I Trauma Center by the State of Illinois, the highest level possible, Christ Medical Center treats an estimated 76,000 emergency patients a year, including more Level I trauma patients than any other hospital in Illinois. Staffed by highly skilled medical professionals who are board-certified in emergency care, Christ Medical Center offers the latest in diagnostic and treatment technology. We also have a trauma surgery team available on site around the clock and a dedicated inpatient trauma unit.

The Emergency Cardiac Center is a dedicated section of the emergency department with state-of-the-art monitoring systems and diagnostic equipment. Emergency physicians and registered nurses streamline care and testing, expedite diagnosis and oversee our comprehensive treatment for heart attack and stroke patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Designated an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics by the State of Illinois, Christ Medical Center also provides advanced emergency care to nearly 21,000 children each year.

In any Emergency Department, patients are seen in order of the seriousness of their condition. The newly established Fast Track is a special section of the emergency department where patients with minor health issues can be evaluated and moved through treatment without having to wait behind more complicated cases.
