Whether you’re expecting your first or fifth child, our labor and delivery staff provides a secure, nurturing environment and a caring response to your family’s needs. It’s the reason more than 4,000 families a year choose Advocate Christ Medical Center as the place to have their baby.

Our labor-delivery-recovery (LDR) suites offer the comfort of a home-like decor, with soft lighting and an easy chair for your labor coach. Each suite contains a fully equipped medical station for routine deliveries, plus a state-of-the-art fetal monitor that enables physician and staff to assist in your delivery. You can also feel secure in the knowledge that more advanced technology and medical specialists are steps away if more complex needs arise.

Our status as a Level III perinatal center means you have 24-hour access to anesthesia for labor, as well as perinatologists and neonatologists—specialists in maternal fetal and newborn care—that you won’t find at many other hospitals.

Our family-centered care means that we care for you and your baby together, as a family. One nurse will care for you both, providing the personalized instruction or advice you may need. You may choose to have your baby room-in with you, or let the newborn nursery provide care while you take advantage of some rest time.

Before you return home, you will receive an educational book and videotape on mother and infant care. Phone numbers are included so you can access our nursing staff in family-centered care or the newborn nursery to answer questions about mom or baby 24 hours a day.

Every baby born at Advocate Christ Medical Center is automatically enrolled in our Baby Advocate program. This free program provides parents with immunization reminders, age-related tips, developmental information and programs.
