The Baby Advocate program is an online immunization resource for parents. All parents will receive information on Baby Advocate and a baby shot immunization record upon discharge from an Advocate hospital. Also, parents may periodically receive additional information about their baby's immunization recommendations until their little one is 15-months-old.

Child car seat safety inspections
Research from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows as many as 80 percent of all car seats are not properly installed and/or used. Don't take a chance; get your car seat inspected! Complimentary inspections by certified technicians are available Monday through Friday at the Condell Day Center for Intergenerational Care. Unfortunately pregnancy does not always go exactly as planned and some expectant mothers may find themselves at home on bed-rest per physician order. Our education team has put together a basket containing helpful DVD's and information on setting up the home to accommodate the expectant mom on bed rest, exercises and health education. Intended for mothers who are unable to attend childbirth classes as planned; these baskets can be borrowed and returned once she is finished. The postnatal shape-up program, Centre..ing on New Mom's, gives eligible* moms FREE use of the Centre Club in Libertyville or Gurnee for a full three months following their six-week postnatal checkup.
*Due to government regulations, we are unable to extend this offer to patients who are insured by Medicare of Medicaid. This offer is only for mothers who deliver at Advocate Condell Medical Center.
The Lactation Office offers a variety of special services for both pregnant and lactating women. Prenatal breastfeeding classes are taught on a regular basis. Breastfeeding success is our goal
Nurses in the New Life Center at Advocate Condell Medical Center are specially trained to assist breastfeeding mothers with the initiation and maintenance of breastfeeding. Advocate Condell Medical Center has Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants on staff to visit with mothers during their hospital stay. Outpatient lactation consultations are available by appointment pre and postnatally. A lactation warm line provides a resource for breastfeeding mothers. Please call 847.990.5403. The nationally prominent Condell Day Center for Intergenerational Care provides all-day care for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old, (Child Day Care), Adult (Adult Day Services) and adults over 18 years old in need of outpatient rehab services. Along with the benefit of high-quality care, this unique center also offers the unequaled benefits of interaction between adults and children, creating an environment in which children and adults can form relationships by learning and sharing together on a daily basis.

There is so much to learn about pregnancy, birth, post-partum and parenting...it is easy to be overwhelmed! That's why your physician encourages you and your partner to take advantage of childbirth classes to help prepare you for baby's arrival. Little by little, as your questions are answered, your fears will diminish and you will feel ready to give birth and become a parent!
Once you are pregnant, the planning begins! Be sure to plan to properly educate yourself and your partner on the many facets of the pregnancy and early parenting experiences.
