Dosimetrist The dosimetrist calculates the dose of radiation the patient receives during treatment. Working with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, the dosimetrist selects the best possible dosage that will ultimately destroy the tumor while sparing the healthy surrounding tissues.
Nurse Navigator Works with patients to help navigate their treatment, answer questions and coordinate appointments. At Condell Medical Center, Kathy Hill, RN, MS, LCPC guides patients and their families through the cancer treatment process from diagnosis to survivorship - while coordinating their care with a team of dedicated physicians and staff. Kathy brings 11 years of oncology experience and knowledge to this role.
Physicist Works directly with the radiation oncologists in the planning and delivery of treatment. The physicist also oversees the work of the dosimetrist to ensure the treatment plan is properly tailored to to each patient.
Quality Improvement Coordinator Coordinates and assures the development, review, approval and distribution of clinical policies, procedures and standards of practice for the radiation treatment center.
Radiation Therapists Work with the radiation oncologist to administer the patient's prescribed radiation treatment, monitor the patient's physical condition, and evaluate any adverse reactions to treatment. All of our radiation therapists are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the State of Illinois
Registered Nurse
- Works with our radiation oncologists to provide patient and family care during treatment
- Performs patient assessments, provides patient and family education about procedures and possible side effects
- Assists with symptom management
Schedule an Appointment Patients and physicians may call Condell Medical Center to schedule a consultation. After the first appointment, the patient will schedule future appointments for treatment directly with the center. Appointments may be scheduled weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm.
