Speech therapy focuses on prevention and treatment of problems such as: soft, weak voice, unclear speech, swallowing difficulties, reduced memory and problem solving. Speech Therapy services are offered at our Vernon Hills location as well as in Libertyville with Condell Day Center's services.
Speech language pathologists are graduates of an accredited graduate level college program receiving a minimum of a Master's degree. All speech therapists are required by the state of Illinois to take and pass a licensing exam to practice, as well as hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Speech therapists are specially trained to treat patients with a wide variety of disorders, from swallowing problems to higher-level cognitive/linguistic deficits. Our speech therapists are continually seeking to expand their knowledge on the most current treatments through professional collaboration and continuing education courses to better serve our clients.
