Play is the work of children! Play serves as a tool for learning and developing, as it allows children to:
- Establish social relations
- Understand natural and physical properties
- Develop fine and gross motor skills
- Utilize language and other forms of expression
- Develop a sense of imagination
- Experience distinctions between fantasy and reality
- Develop self-regulation abilities (self control)

Since play (structured and unstructured) offers so many opportunities for growth, it is an integral part of each child's day in Condell's Child Day Care program.
