General Medicine Floors

  • Overnight call for the senior resident q8days
  • Additional Night float team for the call nights
  • Two senior residents and two interns per team
  • ACGME recommended duty hours and patient limit
  •  

Daily Floor Schedule

Prior to 7:00am
7:00am - 8:30am
9:00am - 11:45am
12:30pm - 3:30pm
12:00pm - 1:00pm
1:00pm - 3:00pm

4:00pm - 4:30pm
PGY-1's arrive and pre-round on patients
Sign-in Time. PGY-2's and PGY-3's arrive and begin work rounds
Teaching attending rounds (times vary)
Wednesday: Intern/Resident School
Noon Report (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)
Patient care, ambulatory care, self-study
Sign out rounds

Medical Intensive Care

  • Overnight call for the senior resident once per rotation
  • Five ICU teams with one senior and one or two interns
  • Additional Night float team for the call nights
  • Dedicated ICU lectures by intensivists
  • Procedure Workshops

Night Floats

  • Residents and Interns divided to floor and ICU
  • One senior and one intern per floor team
  • Two seniors and one intern per ICU team

Elective Rotation

  • Core electives in house
  • Optional electives at University of Illinois at Chicago
  • Ambulatory clinic rotation to meet ACGME recommendation
  • Dedicated research rotation at Christ or nearby institution, i.e. UIC
