Q: Where do you get your physician information?
A: Most of the information comes from questionnaires completed by the physicians themselves. We confirm the information is correct by using a variety of resources both within and without Advocate Health Care.

Q: How often is the information updated?
A: We receive changes daily and update the information that appears on our website every night. Even though we make every effort to keep the information current we do encourage patients to call physician offices to confirm some items, especially things like insurance which may include special conditions, co-payments or other specifics that may not be reflected on the web site.

Q: My physician is on staff at an Advocate Hospital but doesn’t appear on the web, why not?
A: Inclusion in the online physician directory is offered, free of charge, to all Advocate physicians in good standing. Some physicians choose not to have their practice information displayed on the web.

Q: What does it mean when a physician profile is missing information?
A: Information can be omitted from a physician’s record for several reasons – such as: Self reported fields such as clinical interests and a philosophy of care are self reported by the physicians and not required. Information is also not always immediately available for a physician and will not be listed in the directory until the data has been received and validated.
