How to Use “Side by Side” Display

This new feature of Advocate’s Doctor Directory allows you to select up to five Advocate doctors and view important elements of their profile in a side by side display. We hope that this will make it easier for you make a selection based on your preferences.

Use the Doctor’s Directory as you normally would, but when your selections are displayed (as below) click on the physician’s photograph (or the placeholder if the physician isn’t showing a photograph). This will add this physician to your “side by side display.”

After the first selection is made, a yellow “Doctors Selected” box will appear in the upper left hand side of your search screen. As you select each additional physician, their name will appear in the “Doctors Selected” box. After choosing up to five physicians, click on the “View Selection(s)” link.

The doctors you’ve selected will then be displayed side by side. The display order is alphabetical, from left to right. In addition to the physician’s name and photograph, you’ll also see the physician’s gender, age, years of practice, medical specialty, board certification, medical school, internship, residency, philosophy of care, hospital and group affiliation, and additional language(s) spoken. In some cases, you’ll see “n/a.” This indicates that the physician has not provided that information, or that the information is not available.

By clicking on the physician’s name you may view the physician’s full profile which includes insurance and office locations (including a link to a map). You may also request a first appointment, remove selected physicians or, by clicking on the “New Search” (upper right) link, add other physicians to your physician display. Your selected physicians will be “remembered” until you close the browser window.
