Stephen Bennett, M.D.
Dr. Bennett is currently the Program Director. He has been a faculty member with the Advocate Christ Family Medicine Program since 1996. Dr. Bennett, an Illinois native, earned his bachelor's degree at Olivet Nazarene University. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for his medical training and completed his family practice residency at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. He is board certified in family practice, and his professional interests include practice management education, public health and community physician partnerships, health promotion and preventive medicine, and travel medicine. Dr. Bennett is married and has three children.
Sangili Chandran, M.D.
Dr. Chandran is a graduate of Madras University, India, and was trained in orthopedics at Madurai University, India. He completed two years of general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a family practice residency at CMS/Swedish Covenant, serving as chief resident. Board certified in primary care sports medicine, Dr. Chandran is the director of sports medicine/musculoskeletal care. He serves as team physician for area high schools, and provides sports physicals for St. Xavier College. He is fluent in Tamil. Dr. Chandran is married and has three children. He participated in, and finished, the Chicago Marathon.
Edward Rybka, D.O.
A lifelong resident of Oak Lawn, Dr. Rybka graduated from Saint Xavier University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Rybka received a Masters of Biomedical Science in 2004 from Midwestern University then went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathy from Midwestern University in 2008. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Rybka became board certified in Family Medicine in 2011. He is currently a member of a private practice in Oak Lawn.
Jolyne Scholl, M.D.
Dr. Scholl is a graduate of Rush University Medical School and completed her training in family medicine at West Suburban Family Medicine Residency in Oak Park. Her professional interests include preventative and alternative medicine. Dr. Scholl is doing a fellowship program in alternative medicine through the University of Arizona. She is also affiliated with the Christian Medical and Dental Association and American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Scholl was part of a group practice through Advocate for four years before becoming a faculty member of Christ Family Medicine Residency program in January 2012. She resides in the downtown Chicago area and her hobbies include biking and yoga.
Roxanne Smith, M.D.
Dr. Smith is a board-certified physician who joined the Advocate Christ Family Medicine Program in May 2008. Dr Smith received her medical degree from Duke University and she is a graduate of West Suburban Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Smith also received her Master's in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Smith's medical interest are in maternal and child health, preventive care and community medicine. She is currently the Medical Student Clerkship Director. Professional membership include the American Academy of Family Physicians. She and her husband reside in Chicago and have one child.
Robert Zitter, Ph.D
A native of Chicago, Dr. Zitter is a graduate of West Virginia University and completed his internship in clinical psychology at Brown University School of Medicine in 1979. He has been on the faculty of the Advocate Christ Medical Center Residency Program since 1980. He currently holds a teaching appointment at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, and his interests include psychosomatic medicine anxiety disorders and grief. Dr. Zitter is the residency's Research Directior. He has served as President of the Board of Directors on a local domestic violence agency. He and his wife have two sons.
