Charitable gifts are vital to the hospital
Back in the bosom
Dr. Harley Brooks recently got a new heart at Advocate Christ Medical Center--and Advocate Trinity Hospital is now getting its old one back.
One of the top four teaching hospitals in the Chicago area, Advocate Christ Medical Center is committed to both clinical excellence and community outreach. Charitable gifts enable us to build state-of-the-art facilities such as the clinical auditorium; offer specialized training programs for physicians, nurses and other caregivers; perform community outreach to help area residents prevent and manage serious illnesses; and provide financial assistance that enables patients to get the care they need.
Philanthropy news and events at Christ Medical Center
Below is a list of programs at Christ Medical Center that currently need your support.
Philanthropy will enable us to acquire life-like birthing and neo-natal simulators, which will be used to train caregivers for obstetric emergencies through practice drills. With improved confidence and preparedness, caregivers will be able to provide the best and safest care possible to patients.
Bone and Joint Institute
Bone and joint conditions afflict hundreds of millions of Americans—causing them great pain and impairing how they live, work and play. Charitable gifts will support outreach to educate community members about osteoporosis risk factors, prevention, early detection and treatment.
Gifts to the Cancer Institute will support plans to expand our research capabilities and to develop a genetics high-risk clinic, oncology fellowship programs and a patient and family support center.
Advocate Christ Medical Center operates the busiest emergency department in the state. Gifts will support a planned renovation that will expand capacity and promote more effective communication and teamwork between nurses and physicians, as well education and research activities to enhance clinicians’ knowledge and skills.
Growth and Expansion of Advocate Christ Medical Center
Advocate Christ Medical Center is implementing an ambitious long-range strategic plan to continue to advance world-class medical care for the people of Chicago’s Southland and to ensure that everyone has access to that care when they need it. Gifts to the Growth and Expansion fund will support the construction of new inpatient and outpatient facilities to accommodate area residents.
Heart and Vascular Institute
This fund will support facility expansion for key services within the Heart and Vascular Institute. Funds will also be used for cutting-edge technology and equipment as well as for preventative services, community education and outreach.
With your support, the Neurosciences Institute will continue to harness the collective power of technology and medical expertise to deliver the state-of-the-art neurological care that our patients have come to expect.
CeaseFire Support Program
CeaseFire at Advocate Christ Medical Center is a hospital-based violence-prevention program created to reduce violent injury, particularly re-injury, in and by youth admitted for gun-shot wounds, stabbings or battery. Funding for this program will support follow-up by hospital staff with at-risk youth after discharge.
Nursing Education and Research
Nothing has a greater impact on hospitalized patients’ health than the quality of the nursing care they receive. Gifts will enable Christ Medical Center’s nurses to participate in quality-improvement projects and attend local and out-of-town professional conferences, among other learning opportunities.
President's Fund for Special Needs
Gifts to the Presidents Fund for Special Projects at Christ Medical Center provide resources and flexibility to respond quickly to new ideas and programs that support the hospital’s strategic direction.
