In honor of their son
Bob and Betsy were devastated after they lost their son, Ken, in a car accident more than 20 years ago. They have since channeled their energy into making a difference in Ken's name at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is among the top 100 hospitals in the country and the leading provider of health care services in DuPage County. Charitable gifts have enabled us to deliver quality health care, close to home. With the help of donors we have been able to open a state-of-the-art surgical pavilion, offer perinatal bereavement support to families experiencing difficult pregnancies, sustain the only Level I Trauma Center in DuPage County and so much more.

Below is a list of programs at Good Samaritan Hospital that currently need your support.
Bed Tower: Expansion and Advancement of Good Samaritan Hospital
Gifts will provide for the renovation and expansion of Good Samaritan Hospital to provide for private patient rooms.
Cancer Care Programs
Your gift will enable us to provide both inpatient and outpatient cancer services in one convenient location, close to home. Donors will help us to expand services to include radiation oncology; incorporate a cancer survivorship program to support patients before, during and after diagnosis; enable us to participate in clinical trials; and help us renovate our inpatient oncology unit.
Cardiac Services
Good Samaritan Hospital is committed to keeping up with advances in cardiac services. From prevention and state-of-the-art diagnostics to surgery and rehabilitation, Good Samaritan Hospital has the advanced technology, experienced staff and clinical expertise patients need for the most complete approach to cardiac care. Future plans include expansion of cardiodiagnostics and the relocation of the cardiac conditioning program. Your gift will allow the hospital to continue providing excellent and compassionate cardiac services-close to home.
Education for Excellence
The Education for Excellence fund supports professional development opportunities for nurses and other allied health professionals. Funded solely through charitable contributions, Education for Excellence helps Good Samaritan Hospital recruit and retain highly qualified patient caregivers.
Mental Health Services
Gifts to this program will provide support to Good Samaritan Hospital's Behavioral Health Department, whose services range from psychiatric treatment to addiction treatment to older adult services among other things. Care teams include psychiatrists, case managers, nurses, counselors, social workers, occupational therapists, activity therapists and chaplains.
Mission and Spiritual Care
Funds contributed to this project will enable Good Samaritan Hospital to meet the growing spiritual need of its community through an endowment that will sustain, in perpetuity, new programs for spiritual outreach and support for patients and their families, physicians and associates. In addition, the endowment may also enable us to establish a fellowship in the study of mind, body and spirit connections in healing, and a resident-chaplain position to meet the pastoral-care needs of patients in the hospital's unique clinical areas.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
With your gift, the NICU can provide advanced care to high-risk infants with complex medical and surgical needs, ensuring that mothers and babies will rarely need to be transferred elsewhere for care. Good Samaritan's Level III NICU offers the highest level of neonatal care in the state of Illinois. Gifts to the NICU will provide developmentally appropriate equipment and programs to promote growth and healing for our tiniest patients.
SHARE Perinatal Loss Endowment
Your gift will help hundreds of families each year benefit from the counsel of the SHARE program, which offers support to families dealing with high-risk pregnancy, stillbirth, miscarriage and neonatal death.
Women and Children's Programs
Gifts to this fund support a broad range of educational programs and health services, including those in labor and delivery, the neonatal intensive care unit, the breast health center and the "Why Wait?" clinic, which makes breast and cervical cancer screenings and care available to low-income or uninsured women.
President's Fund for Special Needs
The President's Fund for Special Needs at Good Samaritan Hospital will help provide additional resources and flexibility to respond quickly to new ideas and programs that support the hospital's strategic directions.
