In 1969, the Evangelical Hospital Association embarked on a journey with the Downers Grove Hospital Association to expand services to the community by building a new hospital in the area. After gaining local support, Good Samaritan Hospital was constructed over a three-year period and opened its doors on October 11, 1976.

 
Thirty five years later, physicians, associates and volunteers remain steadfast in their commitment to delivering compassionate care for all who come to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. Our history inspires us to soar to even greater heights. 

We know that our work, rooted in the values of our health care ministry, is merely starting as we begin the next 35 years of service to our communities.
