Living life to the fullest after two heart attacks: It can happen
In the fall of 2012, Alex Miller experienced a heart attack. Unfortunately, he is no stranger to the signs and symptoms of one.
An excruciating pain in the jaw triggered to Miller that he was having his second heart attack, 15 years after his first. Living a healthy lifestyle day to day, Miller received news he didn’t think he’d hear again from his physician, Dr. Peter Kerwin, who determined Miller needed to have a second bypass surgery.
“When dealing with coronary artery disease you have to exercise regularly, follow a low fat, low cholesterol diet and follow physician recommendations,” said Kerwin, cardiologist on staff at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.
