Look Good…Feel Better
Cancer can rob a woman of her energy, appetite and strength - but it doesn't have to take away her self confidence. The American Cancer Society's Look Good…Feel Better program is free, non-medical, and teaches beauty techniques to women cancer patients to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Good Samaritan partners with the American Cancer Society in offering this program in our Cancer Care Center. Look Good…Feel Better trained, volunteer cosmetologists teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. The free cosmetic kits provided at these group sessions are available in light, medium, dark and extra dark shades to enhance all complexion types. Women also learn ways to disguise hair loss with wigs, scarves and other accessories.
While there is no charge for this program, registration is required to ensure that we will have cosmetic kits in the appropriate skin tones. You do not need to be a Good Samaritan Hospital patient to participate. Look Good…Feel Better is presented through the American Cancer Society, the National Cosmetology Association, and The Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association.
