Transport Services

The Specialty Transport Team is a hospital based Critical Care Transport Service, staffed by a dedicated team of Emergency Care Specialists, including Critical Care Paramedics. The Team is available to transfer patients from their homes, other hospitals, clinics, or other facilities, to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital or any other medical facilities.

The Specialty Transport Team provides only Advanced Life Support, specializing in critical care transfers, particularly cardiac, trauma, pediatric, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump, and patients on ventilator support. The team is used primarily to transport critically ill or injured patients who require a higher level of care during transport than they currently receive from other ground transport services.

The Specialty Transport Team staffing is flexible, enabling us to provide the staff needed to transfer most patients requiring higher levels of care. The normal Team configuration is two Critical Care Paramedics and depending on your patient's needs, an attending trauma surgeon or a Specialty Transport Team RN is added.
