Uterine Artery Embolization
Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) is a minimally invasive procedure commonly used to treat fibroid tumors. During the procedure, small catheters are inserted into both uterine arteries. Tiny particles are released through the catheters to block blood flow to the tumors, causing them to shrink. UAE can be an alternative to surgery, but it is not appropriate for all women.
