Auxiliary Scholarship
This scholarship aids students majoring in the health care field who reside in the hospital service area and attend an Illinois college or university. Applications are available in February and the deadline for submittal of the completed application including current references, transcripts, and proof of acceptance into a health care program is April 30th. Applicants are evaluated on the basis of attitude and desire toward education, leadership, citizenship, personality, and financial need. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent upon the number and qualifications of the applicants and all finalists are interviewed at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
Eligibility Requirements
- Residence in Good Shepherd Hospital service area (zip codes: 60010, 60012, 60013, 60014, 60021, 60042, 60047, 60050, 60051, 60060, 60067, 60073, 60084, 60098, 60102, 60110 and 60156)
- Acceptance at an Illinois college or university
- Enrollment in a medical or health care field
- Since 1979, we have awarded 545 scholarships for a total of $558,185.00.
