Dr. Hoeltgen and Dr. Wool were one of the first practices to start using robot in Illinois and remain one of the few practices in Illinois to offer minimally invasive gastric bypass surgery.
Dr. Hoeltgen is a proctor for Intuitive, the maker of the da Vinci® Surgical System. He teaches other surgeons how to perform procedures using the robot. Dr. Wool completed his residency at Stanford University in laparoscopic robotic surgery.

Urology
In 2005, Dr. Goldrath started the da Vinci® Surgical Robot program at Good Shepherd Hospital for the Department of Urology. He and Dr. Troy have been pioneers in performing and developing robotic urologic procedures in Illinois. Today, their group has performed over 500 robotic procedures for treatment of prostate, kidney, bladder and urethral cancers and well as benign diseases of the urinary tract. Dr. Goldrath is a proctor for Intuitive, the maker of the da Vinci® Surgical System. He teaches other urologists from the region how to perform these procedures using the robot.
