As part of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's ongoing efforts to educate and empower the community, the hospital Speakers Bureau provides speakers for civic groups and community organizations.
Speakers are available for a range of oncology-related topics, including:
- Breast health
- Cancer
- Cholesterol
- Fitness
- Nutrition
- Smoking cessation
- Stress management
- Women's health
- Cancer prevention and screenings
Speakers offer presentations appropriate for any group, including cancer support groups, libraries, workplaces, churches and special-interest groups such as runners, biking clubs or senior citizens' organizations.
Four week advance notice is required to arrange a speaker, and an audience of at least 20 is required for physician speakers. Non-physician health professionals give presentations to groups of fewer than 20.
