Rehabilitation Therapy Services

The Rehabilitation Services Department at Good Shepherd Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies to individuals of all ages. Specializing in both orthopedic and neurological injuries, the scope of our service includes physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Our experienced and compassionate therapists work closely with the patient, the physician, and the patient's family to create a comprehensive treatment plan. Each treatment protocol is determined only after thorough evaluation of each patient's physical condition and discussion of his/her individual goals. Every attempt is then made to tailor the eventual outcome of therapy to the patient's specific needs. Therapists also educate patients and/or caregivers about home treatment plans to maximize the benefits of therapy and improve chances for a sustained recovery of function.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
Our outpatient therapy centers can be utilized following a patient's discharge from an acute care facility or by direct referral from a physician's office. Our outpatient facilities offer comprehensive adult and pediatric outpatient services to address the needs of patients requiring interdisciplinary care.

In addition to the outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services at the hospital, we offer adult physical therapy also in Barrington at the Good Shepherd Health and Fitness Center, in Lake Zurich at the Foglia YMCA and in Crystal Lake in the Pinehurst square mall. Pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapies are also offered at our Crystal Lake and Lake Zurich locations.
