The Haught Memorial Golf Outing raises funds for Advocate Children’s Hospital - Oak Lawn
Michael and Tiffani Haught are forever grateful for the heartfelt and professional care they experienced at Advocate Children’s Hospital when their daughter Morgan was born with a serious heart defect in July 2004.
“It was incredibly painful to have our precious baby in the hospital, but the doctors and nurses cared for Morgan as if she was their own,” says Tiffani. “The hospital staff also understood that it wasn’t just Morgan who needed special care, and they took care of us, too. They answered all of our questions, and when they couldn’t they would find someone who could. They provided extra touches that meant a lot to us during a very difficult time.”
Despite the excellent care Morgan received, she passed away after just one month of life. But the caregivers at Advocate Children’s Hospital made the time the Haughts had with their daughter so special.
As a way to thank the wonderful staff and give back for the extraordinary care they received at Advocate Children’s Hospital, Michael and Tiffani created the Morgan Haught Foundation to help raise funds for the hospital’s Pediatric Heart Surgical Heart Unit. Every year since 2006, they have hosted the Morgan Haught Foundation Golf Outing, raising more than $100,000 for advocate Children's Hospital.
“It takes a very exceptional person to care for sick children, and Advocate Children’s Hospital is full of those exceptional caregivers. We are so thankful for the people who cared for us,” says Tiffani. “This is our way to continue to raise funds in Morgan’s honor and help other families who have to go through the same thing we did.”
