Our Facility
The next best thing to home...
The design of Advocate Hope Children's Hospital was guided by families and pediatric specialists. The facility itself contributes to the quality of care, enabling the staff to work at maximum efficiency, while the family benefits from a warm and healing environment. The four-story, 69-bed hospital includes:
- 45 private inpatient rooms with sleeping and bath accommodations for parents.
- 15 private rooms for intensive care, designed to enable parents to remain at the child's bedside.
- 9-bed surgical heart unit.
- Outpatient, radiology and rehabilitation areas that minimize fear or stress through child-friendly decor and play areas.
- Specialty designated outpatient treatment rooms that enable patients and families coping with similar health problems, a chronic condition or long-term illness, to informally network during their visits.
- Separate age-appropriate recreation areas, including a lounge for adolescent patients, to maximize opportunity for natural behavior and self-expression in a home-like environment.
- Private consultation rooms on each floor for family members.
- A multi-cultural, non-denominational chapel.
- The "Kids Kafe" cafeteria, serving sandwiches and wholesome snacks to patient families and visitors on weekdays.
At Hope Children's Hospital, medical procedures are performed in treatment areas separate from the child's room, which remains a "safe haven," an oasis from the fear or discomfort associated with treatment.
